ACCESSIBILITY
The apartment is spread over two floors. On the ground floor, there is the entrance, and after a small hallway, you will access two flights of stairs that lead to the first floor. From the first floor, two more flights of stairs will take you to the second floor. The apartment does not have a lift. To reach the apartment, you need to walk downhill for about two or three minutes from the main road of the village. The wide road leading to the apartment is pedestrian and consists of comfortable steps for half of its length. However, it is necessary to be able to move easily, to go back up above all.

PARKING
The apartment does not have parking facilities. You can park your car before descending the pedestrian road that leads to the square. Adjacent to the main road, there is a small area where you can find paid parking spots (blue lines) and free parking spots (white lines). Please note that the parking spaces are not numerous, so be patient if you do not find a parking spot immediately. In addition, you can park in Torno along the tunnel which is approximately 500 metres away from the property. In both cases, we can arrange a luggage portage service for your bags, and you can easily reach the property on foot. Furthermore, you could also park your car in Tavernola, where there is a multi-story parking facility just a few minutes away from Tavernola's pier. From there, by taking the ferry, you can reach Torno's pier in the town square in about 7/8 minutes, and in less than one minute you will be at your property.

NEIGHBORHOOD
The apartment is located in Torno, one of the most picturesque places on the shores of Lake Como. The square adjacent to the apartment is certainly one of the most representative spots in the area. Torno is situated on the right bank of Lake Como and is on the road that connects Como to Bellagio. Torno might be small, yet it is still one of the most evocative destinations of Lake Como and one of the most visited towns on the western branch of the lake. Tourists and vacationers are attracted by the characteristic narrow streets and the charming villas – the 16th century Villa Pliniana, Villa Taverna with its magnificent gardens, and Villa Mia. Writer and poet Hermann Hesse was also impressed by the beauty of Torno and briefly wrote about its charm in his essay "Spaziergang am Comer See" ("A Walk Around Lake Como").
Nature lovers will enjoy the beautiful paths leading up to the mountain villages of Montepiatto and Piazzaga.

TIPS
>We advise you to take a day to visit the marvelous little towns around the lake. Como city is the urban center of the area, but the little towns are gems with glorious lakeside villas.
>To travel and walk around Lake Como, especially in the little towns and in the mountains, comfortable shoes are a must.
>There are quite many public drinking-water fountains in the area, and the water is safe to drink unless stated otherwise. You can carry your own refillable bottle!
>Hiking lovers can walk parts of La Strada Regia – the ancient road that connects Brunate (Como) to Bellagio.
>Look for traditional restaurants where you can try local foods such as Lake Como fish dishes.
>In Italy, many shops (especially the little ones) and services are closed in the middle of the day, so be careful to plan your shopping accordingly.
>Lake Como is one of the deepest lakes in Europe and the deepest in Italy. Swimming and diving are prohibited in many areas and can be dangerous. For those who wish to dwell in the water, however, there are some options. In Blevio – a village that borders with Torno, there is a small beach for swimming and wakeboarding. In Como city, there is an outdoor pool near Villa Olmo, but swimming in the lake is not recommended and is mostly forbidden. There are beaches in other lakeside towns.
Lido di Bellagio and pebbly San Giovanni beach will be waiting for those who wish to travel and explore the beautiful town of Bellagio which lies in the middle of the two Larian branches. Locals and visitors also enjoy traveling to Nesso where the bravest swimmers can jump into the lake from the ancient Roman bridge near the waterfall.
>Lake Como is located in a mountainous region. The surrounding pre-Alps might not seem very high, but the climate is nevertheless affected by the nearby mountains, and temperatures can change quickly. Be particularly attentive to the weather when hiking, and bring some warm and waterproof clothes with you!
